Kuke beads are cut from the shell of a Brazilian palm nut. These 10 mm beads are cut in a soft, irregular shape with gentle edges, from material the maker grades as its top kuke.

Choosing your bracelet

  • Pattern: Mottled, with a bold swirling pattern, or Natural, in plain honey tones.
  • Selection: Standard and Fine are the same kuke, sorted by surface. Fine pieces have fewer natural brown lines and spots; Standard pieces have more.

Natural brown lines and small spots are part of kuke, not flaws. No two mottled beads or bracelets are alike; the photos show representative examples.

Material & origin

Each listing states the material, origin and measurements of the piece. Natural materials vary — grain, colour, flecks and markings make every piece one of a kind; they are character, not flaws.

Bead size

Bead size is the width of one bead, in millimetres. Larger beads look bolder and feel heavier in the hand; smaller ones are lighter and quieter. Our size guide shows each size side by side.

Care & patina

Handle often, with clean and dry hands. Keep away from water, perfume, lotion and strong sun. Let new wood rest a day or two each week while the patina settles, and wipe with a soft cotton cloth — never oil or polish.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free within the contiguous US: the 48 mainland states and Washington, DC. We can't yet deliver to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or APO/FPO/DPO addresses.

US import duties are included in the price, so you don't pay them. If a carrier ever asks you for import charges, contact us and we will refund them.
